Below are five practical ways you can encourage healthier eating habits into your week!

Extra portion of fruit or veg
Instead of focusing on removing foods, focus on adding one extra piece of fruit or veg to a meal each day. Small increases help improve fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Stay hydrated
Mild dehydration can affect concentration, energy and mood. Keeping liquid to hand (where possible) – drinking fluids with meals also helps. Water is a healthy choice to help keep hydrated.

Include protein in meals
Protein can help to stable your energy levels and reduce any dips between meals. Examples of protein include eggs, yoghurt, beans, tofu, fish, lean meat, nuts and seeds.

Plan ahead for busy days
When we are busy, it’s easy to rely on convenience foods. Plan ahead by prepping lunches, carrying healthy snacks, and batch cooking for the week to support consistent, healthier eating.

Try to eat ‘mindfully’
When we’re rushed or distracted, we tend to eat too quickly. Slowing down, avoiding screens, taking proper breaks, and tuning into hunger and fullness cues can improve digestion and overall satisfaction with meals.
